Blues, which originated in America in the 19th century, was an important precursor to many other musical styles such as jazz, rock, and R&B. The genre spread throughout the 1930s, found its way into various jazz big bands, and produced significant musicians like Robert Johnson and Billie Holiday. The muted red colour of the Student 30's Blues embodies the melancholy of the musical style and is also one of the most popular colours of the 1930s.

Five different nib sizes are available, from extra-fine to extra-broad. While the extra-fine nib (EF) is particularly well-suited for small, delicate handwriting, the extra-broad nib (BB) is often used for large, dramatic signatures. We recommend the medium nib (M) for beginners. All nibs are made in Germany.
